Professor Hans-Bernd Brosius leads the chair for empirical communication research since 1998. The research and teaching interests focus on media use and effects and can be divided into the four main research areas:

  • Political Communication
  • Health Communication
  • Computer-mediated Communication
  • Media Psychology and Reception.

In addition, a particular focus is on the use and development of innovative research methods.
